This is a demo storefront, not a bookstore.
Placing an order records an order in your SkillSafe account. It
does not charge credits and it
does not deliver a book file, download or reading copy —
there is no file, link or text attached to any title here. Every book listed is
in the public domain and can be read free from a library or a public-domain text
archive. Prices are catalog data, shown as list prices, and are never billed.

Questions
- Does Bookshop charge my SkillSafe credits when I place an order?
- No. Placing an order writes one record to your own
orderscollection on the SkillSafe app platform. No credits are transferred, and every order row shows 0 credits charged. - Do I get a book file, download or reading copy after ordering?
- No. Bookshop delivers no file, no download link and no text of any work. The catalog records carry a title, author, genre, description, list price and stock count, and nothing else. Every title listed is in the public domain and can be read free from a library or a public-domain text archive.
- What is the list price for, if nothing is charged?
- The list price is catalog data used to demonstrate sorting, filtering and receipt formatting. It is shown as a list price everywhere it appears and is never billed. 10,000 SkillSafe credits equal one US dollar.
- Does the stock count go down when I order?
- No. The
bookscollection is written by the app publisher, not by visitors, so ordering cannot change a stock count. Bookshop therefore never claims scarcity; it only marks a title unavailable when the publisher sets its stock to zero. - Where do my orders live and can I export them?
- Orders live in the buyer-owned
orderscollection on the SkillSafe platform, keyed to your signed-in account rather than to one browser. The My orders panel lists them with their order ids and offers a CSV export.
